Wagging the Dog with Terror Alerts

Keith Olbermann does a bit of creative journalism, a rarity these days, in documenting 13 instances of the Bush administration issuing terror alerts or warnings in the immediate wake of bad news for the administration. As Olbermann observes, it all may just be coincidence.

I heard him inteview Asa Hutchinson (ex-Dep. Sec. of HS) about that. Hutchinson, who is running for Governor of Arkansas, said something like, "Such as thing would never have happened on my watch."

I would have to say that Asa Hutchinson is a liar. No surprise there, as it seems that lying is one of the chief qualifications for appointment to the Bush administration. Hutchinson's boss, Tom Ridge, as much as admitted that the declarations were driven by political considerations.

Yes, indeed. You would have thought that AH would have come up with something more convincing, since he knew that's what they were going to ask about.
